Poreč is a city located on the west coast of Istria, Croatia. During the history, it's residents were mostly doing the work in agriculture or fishing, and today tourism is the main source of Poreč's income. Tourism of Poreč started developing in 1844. and the first hotel was built in 1910. Ever since, a huge number of hotels, camps, holiday houses and apartments were build all the way down the 37 kilometers long coast. Crystal clear sea, nice and clean beaches, mediterranean clime and kind residence are some of the Poreč's characteristics that keep attracting more and more tourists. The city and it's historical-cultural monuments have been protected by UNESCO ever since 1997. There are two main streets called Decumanus and Cardo Maximus on which are located many world famous monuments. The most famous one is the Euphrasium's basilica from the 6th century. In the city there are also many beautiful palaces, and the most famous one is the gothic palace Zuccato. The city also offers variety of restaurants in which tourists can provide traditional Istrian dishes and shops where they can buy different types of souvenirs.
