Milna is the biggest settlement on the western side of the island of Brač. The area of Milna started developing during 17th century, and presented the main harbour of Brač until the middle of 20th century. With a bit over 1000 inhabitants, Milna is a tourist settlement which base for tourism are natural beauties and good connections with the city of Split. The settlement is connected with Split with a catamaran, and in Supetar, a settlement located 20 kilometers from Milna there is also a ferry harbour. Almost every inhabitant offers some kind of tourist services, so the settlement is fullfilled with holiday apartments and luxuriously arranged villas. Another activity is olive growing and producing olive oil and other products. In the settlement, the locals have a very specific way of speaking and pronouncing words, different from the rest of Croatia.
