Premantura is a tourist settlement and the southest point of the Istrian peninsola. The area of Premantura has been inhabitated ever since 15th century when the refugees from the south of Croatia came to escape the Venetian-Turkish wars. Today, even tho a smal settlement with all together 850 inhabitants, Premantura is a well known tourist destination fullfilled with natural beauties and tourist content. The biggest advantage for the development of Premantura's tourism is the vicinity of the National Park ''Kamenjak'' which is for sure the most famous and visited attraction of the settlement. It's a protected natural area that expands trough many beautiful pebble beaches and bays and is rich on flora – there, you can find over 530 different plants. In Premantura, one of the most developed types of tourism is the sporty kind of one, because there are many sport courts, the shore is well-indented. The surfing is really famous there, so in the beginning of November an surfing event called ''Hallovin'' is being held in Premantura. The event is visited by many tourists and sports people and it's also a great way of making the tourist season last much longer. The settlement is rich on beautiful beaches, and the most important one is the one for the blind people, that is custom-made and adapted for the people with that kind of need. Premantura is a perfect destination for a vacation with family and friends or just a one day long trip and visit of the magical National Park of Kamenjak.
