Vela Luka is a small town situated on the west side of the island of Korčula, in a deep wide bay that abounds in numerous picturesque coves.
Even though the history of this place goes way back in the past, Vela Luka blossomed at the end of the 18th century when trade developed and churches were built. Subsequently, in the 19th century school, post office, steam mill, fish can factory were built.
With its 4500 inhabitants, today Vela Luka is home to many artists; painters, sculptors, poets.
Due to its natural beauties, mild climate, rich cultural heritage, various events and kind hosts Vela Luka became one of the favourite destination in Croatia.
