Rogoznica is also famous for the “Dragon’s Eye”, a unique geomorphological phenomenon – a sea lake some 15 meters deep, created after the last ice age, around 10 000 years ago. Every thirty years the water in this lake “boils”, which results in the death of all organisms living in the lake. There are various legends about the emergence of the lake. According to one of them, a dragon lives inside the lake, which is how the lake got its name.
